The stall
A table, a tape and eighteen frames
The stall is one room on Ratchadaphisek Road, and the whole idea fits on a single sheet: measure the bag the way the gate measures it, then say the number out loud.
Why the frame count exists
Cabin bags are sold by litres and by marketing. Airlines sell nothing: they publish a box, and a sizer at the gate is that box in plastic. Between the two there is a gap of four or five centimetres, and that gap is where the extra baggage fee lives.
Every bag on this table was measured against the published box of eighteen carriers that fly out of Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang, plus the long-haul carriers Thai passengers actually use. The result is a number from zero to eighteen under each bag, and the number is the same one the gate would reach.
